KeyCrumbs helps you find and share access codes for the places around you. We try to keep what we collect to the minimum needed to make the app work — and to be clear with you about it. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information. If you create an account to contribute, we collect your email address and basic profile details so we can sign you in and keep the community accountable.
• Content you share. Codes, locations, notes, and votes you add to the map. Content you post publicly is visible to other KeyCrumbs users; codes you mark as private are visible only to you.
• Messages you send us. If you email us or request coverage for a location, we receive the information you include.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data. Basic information about how you interact with the app (for example, screens viewed and features used), which we use for analytics and to keep the app working.
• Approximate location. With your permission, we use your device location to show codes near you. You can control location access at any time in your device settings.

How we use your information

• To show you relevant, nearby codes and make the map useful.
• To let you contribute, edit, and manage your own entries.
• To maintain quality — duplicate detection, verification, and community voting.
• To understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
• To respond to your questions and support requests.
• To protect KeyCrumbs and our users, and to comply with the law.
• To send you occasional product updates and news by email, if you've opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time.

How information is shared

We don't sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited ways:

• With the community. Codes and locations you post publicly are shared with other users — that's the point of the app. Please don't post sensitive personal information.
• With service providers. Companies that help us run the app (such as hosting, authentication, and analytics providers) process data on our behalf under appropriate obligations.
• For legal reasons. If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of KeyCrumbs and its users.

Analytics & tracking

We use analytics to understand product usage and improve the experience. Some usage data may be used to measure performance across services. Where required, we'll ask for your permission, and you can adjust tracking preferences in your device settings.

Your choices

• Location. Grant or revoke location access anytime in your device settings.
• Your content. Edit or delete entries you've added from within the app.
• Your account. You can request to access or delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
• Emails. Unsubscribe from product updates anytime using the link at the bottom of any email.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. Community contributions may remain on the map after an account is closed so the information stays useful, but we'll disassociate it from your account on request where reasonable.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. No app or service can promise perfect security, but we work to safeguard your data and limit access to it.

Children

KeyCrumbs is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above, and significant changes will be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate.
